Technically challenging and forever fascinating, NMSU’s Structural Engineering groups perform analysis, design, construction, and evaluation of buildings, bridges, and other structures to ensure public safety.
Dealing with the design, analysis, and construction of foundations, slopes, retaining structures, pavements, excavations, tunneling, earth dams, earthworks, and other systems made of or supported by soil or rock, NMSU’s Geotechnical Engineering Research groups engage in federally funded research studies and have received numerous awards and recognition.
For over 30 years, the Civil Engineering Department has actively developed educational and research programs in various aspects of environmental engineering, to include sustainable engineering solutions for environmental problems to protect humans and our environment.
